Energize the Land Trust

Empowering Proud Ground Homes with Energy Efficiency and Solar

Who is involved?

A partnership bringing solar installations and energy retrofits directly to Proud Ground Homeowners and cultivating a skilled workforce, is supported entirely by funding from the Portland Clean Energy Fund (PCEF), a program of the City of Portland.

What is Energize Proud Ground?

This collaborative initiative, driven by a shared commitment to climate justice and community resilience, is designed to bring vital energy-efficient home retrofits and solar installations to Proud Ground homeowners in Portland.

Building off our first PCEF initiative ir brought solar to Proud Ground homeowners, and now we are now expanding this project to include energy audits, retrofits, all while building a stronger, more skilled workforce.

How it works

At the heart of this partnership is funding directly from the Portland Clean Energy Fund (PCEF). This means crucial resources are channeled directly into the community, promoting wealth recirculation, lowering energy burden, and fostering long-term sustainability.

This is a unique opportunity to:

  • Get an in-depth energy audit of your home.

  • Enhance home’s value and performance

  • Lowering energy bills and increasing comfort

  • Contribute to a healthier environment and a stronger, more equitable future for Portland

Building a Skilled Local Workforce

In addition to supporting homeowners, Energize Proud Ground is proud to partner with the Northwest Native Chamber to create meaningful development opportunities. Through this collaboration, individuals and small businesses from our community will receive specialized training in building performance, energy audits, and retrofit techniques. These newly trained professionals will then be engaged to perform the energy audits and carry out the retrofit work of homes within the program.
