Proud Ground in the news: KPTV
KPTV recently featured The Bakers, a family who bought their home through Proud Ground and has been transforming their yard into a garden to benefit the community:
Proud Ground and the Native American Youth and Family Center paired up to help Angela Baker and her family buy their house last year. Before moving in, the Baker family had lived in seven rentals in eight years.
Baker, her husband and three children are now using part of their property to grow food and educate other families.
"All of the food here is donated, volunteers … come and work and then the food is donated and divided amongst the families," Baker said.
